Thematising and adding bios for each publication has taken me 20+ hours. If you would like to support this page and the work that has gone into it there are a couple of things you can do: (1) become a paid subscriber or (2) buy me a coffee. If you cannot afford either of these then you can also recommend my page. Any of these would be greatly appreciated, I’m going to sleep for a couple of days.
The Creation of a Poetic Library
It is a (now) well-documented complaint against Substack that the poets of its community do not have their own page. This ‘Poetic Library’ attempts to provide some sort of solution to this. What started as a desire to have a couple more poets on my Substack list led to my most commented note. Instead of replying there, I decided I would compile this library for our ‘stack community.
Housekeeping
This page will be updated once weekly with any new poets on Substack that are brought to my attention (either through direct contact or as comments on this page).
There are some parameters for a newsletter to be added to this page. First, the page should be primarily poetic. Second, the page should have consistent posting for the past 3 months. Third, the page should not progress hate or discrimination - this is a list compiled by me, and I do not want to support writing of this nature. If you find that a page in the Library does not comply with these guidelines please let me know.
If you are a poet and want your page added (if you do not do the following you will not be added):
Check the guidelines (3 months activity, mainly poetry on your page).
Comment your page name, the age of your page and a short bio which describes what your page does include the themes you can find the list below.
Let’s make the poetic community more cohesive on Substack by compiling this Library!
Searchable Key Themes
Below each poetic ‘stack is a description of their page and the themes they explore. This is to ensure that explorers of the library can navigate key themes that they are interested in. Here is a list of some of the key themes which appear in this library so that you can search them across the shelves! (To search hit “cmd/contrl” and “f” on your keyboard.)
There are 39 themes:
age, art, childhood, class, comedy, culture, fatherhood, femininity, fiction, food, healing, horror, life, loss/grief, love, magic, masculinity, memory, mental health, motherhood, myth, nature, neurodivergence, parenthood, philosophy, politics, relationships, romanticism, science, science fiction, sex, sexuality, spirituality, tragedy, translation, trauma, travel and writing.
Note
This list in not comprehensive at the moment, but I would like it to be. So please share and comment so that we can have a Poetic Library on Substack!
Pages which have been inactive for some time may be removed. This is looked on rather empathetically though - we all need a break sometimes. But I do really want this to be a representation of an active poetic community of Substack.
If you are not happy with the representation of your page, let me know by emailing anthropocenetimeseditors@gmail.com with you page name and “themes/bios” in the subject.

Thank you, Saffron! This is an incredible resource.
If I may...would you please add my own poetry Substack to your list? It's called Iterations: https://mikesperiosu.substack.com/
Hi, Saffron! This is so cool. Such a great resource. :) Thank you for taking the time to put this together and for including me.
Two quick things: It looks like the link to my Substack (Petra Glyphs) is wrong. The active link is https://petrahernandez.substack.com/
And the second thing: Just for full disclosure, my account is primarily fiction, with some poetry. But I do host a February Poetry Adventure every year, and post a monthly poetry prompt, so I'm not sure if that grandmothers me in or not. :)
